Bagaimana caranya edit Currency Rate secara manual? Jadi harga Rupiah yang tampil bisa sesuai dengan yang kita mau.

Pada Joomla/Virtuemart Currency Rate diupdate secara otomatis dan berdasarkan pada mata uang Euro. Karena melalui dua kali pengkonfersian terkadang harga yang muncul tidak sesuai dengan yang kita inginkan.

Berikut adalah cara memperbaikinya agar Currency Rate bisa kita atur secara manual:

• Pada public_html buka folder cache
• Temukan daily.xml — buka dan edit
• Ubah Euro terhadap USD menjadi 1 — Kemudian Euro terhadap IDR menjadi rate “yang kau kehendaki”
• Agar tidak berubah-ubah terus setiap hari, maka ubah permission file daily.xml menjadi 644

Pada website atau blog berbahasa Indonesia, sering kali iklan google adsense yang muncul adalah melulu iklan layanan masyarakat. Kita tidak dapat penghasilan dari iklan semacam ini, dan penampilan dari situs pun kurang enak dipandang. Untuk saya pribadi, saya lebih suka yang muncul adalah iklan adsense dengan bentuk gambar.

Oke, tidak dapat penghasilan dari google adsense tidak apa, mungkin kamu punya website lain atau barang dagangan yang ingin dipromosikan, atau hanya sekedar ingin mempercantik website dengan gambar-gambar? Bagusnya google adsense memberikan opsi untuk menampilkan iklan pribadi atau gambar tertentu sesuai dengan keinginan kita masing-masing. Kita hanya perlu menyesuaikan ukuran banner yang akan ditampilkan saja.

Pertama, siapkan banner sesuai dengan ukuran iklan google adsese, 120 x 600 / 160 x 600 / 250 x 250 / dll. Bisa berupa gambar atau tulisan. Silahkan buat banner dengan alat apa saja yang kamu kuasai, kemudian upload ke hosting.

Kedua, banner yang sudah jadi tersebut dapat ditampilkan hanya sebagai gambar saja ataupun sebagai gambar yang dapat di klik dan mengarah ke suatu situs tertentu.

• Jika hanya sebagai gambar. Pada google adsene bikin iklan baru atau edit iklan yang sudah ada. Pada saat itu kamu akan melihat bagian MORE OPTIONS yang berisi 3 pilihan: Show public service ads, Show non-Google ads from another URL, Fill space with a solid color. Jika hanya ingin menampilkan gambar saja pilih pilihan yang kedua, maka akan muncul baris isian kosong yang harus diisikan dengan URL dari banner yang kamu buat tadi. Misal: http://domainkamu.com/banner.gif
• Jika ingin banner dapat di klik dan mengarah ke website tertentu. Pada notepad bikin kode html. Buka notepad dan ketik seperti ini <a href=”http://domainkamu.com” target=”_blank”><img src=”http://domainkamu.com/banner.gif”></a> kemudian save dengan format .html, selanjutnya upload html dan banner ke hosting. Kemudian sama seperti diatas, pilih pilihan kedua dan isikan dengan URL html yang sudah kamu buat barusan. Misal: http://domainkamu.com/iklanku.html

Cara apapun yang kamu pilih, kemudian klik save dan tunggu 10 menit maka iklan buatan sendiri akan muncul.

Dengan cara ini maka iklan layanan masyarakat digantikan dengan iklan buatan pribadi. Gunakan untuk mempromosikan situs kamu yang lain atau hanya untuk sekedar mempercantik situs.

Favicon merupakan salah satu identitas untuk pengunjung dapat mengenali website kita. Tiap-tiap website memiliki favicon yang unik dan berbeda sesuai dengan keinginan pemilik-nya masing-masing.

Bagaimana cara  membuat favicon:

1. Pertama-tama design dulu gambar yang ingin dijadikan favicon, dan pastikan bentuknya adalah square alias kotak alias panjang dan lebarnya sama.
2. Kemudian berkunjunglah ke website-website yang menyedakan jasa favicon generator gratis. Misalnya: chami.com
3. Jika gambar sudah terbentuk maka selanjutnya adalah Download FavIcon Package kemudian upload ke root folder dengan menggunakan ftp ataupun file manager. “Sebelum upload filenya di-unzip dulu”

Cara memasukan favicon-nya ada dijelaskan pada file readme yang datang bersama favicon. Namun walaupun begitu tetap akan saya copy paste disini:

Ada kalanya ketika kita sedang melakukan instalasi pada suatu aplikasi tetentu satu atau beberapa file dianggap sebagai virus oleh AVG Anti Virus kita, padahal sebenarnya bukan.

Agar dapat melakukan instalasi secara sempurna maka kita mau tidak mau harus me-non aktifkan sementara AVG Anti Virus. Caranya:

• Buka AVG Anti Virus, klik 2x pada lambang AVG di pojok kanan bawah.
• Setelah terbuka, temukan Resident Shield. Resident Shield sekarang statusnya adalah aktif, tujuan kita adalah me-non aktifkannya. Klik 2x Resident Shield.
• Remove tanda centang pada Resident Shield active. Kemudian Save Change.

Pada tahap ini Resident Shield sudah tidak aktif dan kita dapat melakukan install dengan normal. Setelah install selesai Resident Shield harus diaktifkan kembali untuk menjaga dari virus-virus yang tidak diinginkan.

Jika ingin membuat blog saya lebih condong menggunakan WordPress, sedangkan Joomla saya gunakan untuk website bisnis maupun e-commerce karena joomla dapat dipadukan dengan virtueMart.

2. WordPress.com – Hampir sama dengan blogger.com tapi tidak mensyaratkan akun Gmail, jadi bisa menggunakan alamat email apa saja untuk mendaftar. Untuk address website-nya menjadi namasituskamu.wordpress.com
3. Blogdetik.com – Menggunakan engine WordPress. Blog detik memberikan kesempatan agar postingan/artikel yang kita buat dapat dibaca oleh banyak pembaca detik.com, karena artikel kita bisa nampang di halaman pertama detik.com

Diatas adalah 3 yang paling favorit menurut saya. Sebanarnya masih ada lagi, misalnya: MySpace dari MSN.

Untuk yang lebih rumit bisa menggunakan CMS (Content Management System) seperti Joomla, WordPress, atau Drupal. Menggunakan CMS tersebut kita sedikitnya harus memiliki pengetahuan mengenai domain dan hosting. Antara lain: bagaimana cara memperoleh nama domain, bagaimana cara mendapatkan tempat hosting, bagaimana cara install, dsb….
