CMS (Content Management System) seperti Joomla, WordPress, atau Drupal banyak digunakan oleh institusi-institusi besar maupun personal. Untuk menggunakan CMS ini, kita sedikitnya harus memiliki pengetahuan mengenai domain dan hosting. Antara lain: bagaimana cara memperoleh nama domain, bagaimana cara mendapatkan tempat hosting, bagaimana cara install, dsb….

Ketiganya merupakan CMS yang sangat populer dan paling banyak digunakan di dunia. Saya sendiri sudah berpengalaman dalam menggunakan CMS Joomla dan WordPress. Sedangakan untuk Drupal saya belum sempat mencoba. Nanti kalau ada kesempatan saya akan coba.
Joomla dan WordPress sama-sama memiliki themes dan dukungan plugins/modul yang banyak bertebaran di internet, sehingga pengalaman dalam menggunakan keduanyna begitu menyenangkan, karena apapun yang dibutuhkan nyaris selalu tersedia. Tinggal pilih saja mana yang lebih nyaman digunakan.
Jika ingin membuat blog saya lebih condong menggunakan WordPress, sedangkan Joomla saya gunakan untuk website bisnis maupun e-commerce karena joomla dapat dipadukan dengan virtueMart.
